Tadaaaa!

Echt, ik ben zooo blij met het eindresultaat! Mijn roze gehaakte deken van de Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach is klaar.
Het heeft wat moeite gekost om de blokken iedere keer weer in hetzelfde formaat te krijgen. Maar als ik dan eenmaal 1 blok van de 4 benodigde blokken per week op het juiste formaat had en Ik schreef dit ook nog even goed voor mezelf op (ahum, dat was dus ook een leerpuntje nog voor mijzelf 😉 ) dan is het echt heel leuk om te doen. Ik heb tijdens deze deken nieuwe steken geleerd, aanpassingen gemaakt, mijn eigen creativiteit de vrije loop gelaten en een paar eigen blokken ontworpen. En daarmee ben ik dus eigenlijk mede-ontwerpster geworden van mijn eigen persoonlijke roze Last dance on the Beach deken. Hoe cool is dat? 😉
Yeah!!! Finished 😉 I’m so happy with my pink crochet blanket of Scheepjescal 2016 Last Dance on the Beach. It was a continuous struggle getting the blocks the same size. But when 1 of the 4 weekly blocks was right on size and I wrote down the details in time (this part really isn’t one of my strongest characteristics 😉 ) then crocheting the blocks was fun to do. I learned new stitches, made adjustments, designed a few of my own blocks. And by adding a few blocks of my own design to the blanket, I actually became co-designer of my own pink crochet blanket Last Dance on the Beach. How cool?! 😉
Het joinen vond ik best een klus, daar heb ik me wel op verkeken eerlijk gezegd. Ik dacht echt ‘dat doe ik wel ff’. Nou, mooi niet dus.
Joining blocks was quite some work, I really thought I would do it in a while. Well, not! That’s for sure! 

 

Voor de gehaakte rand heb ik rondom eerst 1 toer vasten gehaakt (hoeken 1v, 2l, 1v), daarna ben ik volgens het haakpatroon verder gegaan. Ik haakte de rand met naald nr. 6mm.
For crochet border I started to crochet 1 round sc all around (corners 1sc, chain 2, 1sc). After this round I followed pattern.  I used  crochethook 6 mm. 
 
 

 

Mijn roze deken is uiteindelijk ca 180x135cm geworden. Ik gebruikte voor mijn roze gehaakte deken Double Knit Special by Stylecraft. Het garen kocht ik bij de webshop van Yla Lifestyle in Lochem (klik hier) die ook gezellige workshops en Haak-In-Avonden organiseren.
Bedankt aan alle ontwerpster van deze Scheepjescal 2016 Last Dance on the Beach voor de prachtige ontwerpen en duidelijke omschrijvingen en filmpjes. 
My pink blanket became approximately 180x135cm. I used Double Knit Special by Stylecraft for my pink crochet blanket. I bought my yarn at the webshop Yla Lifestyle in Lochem (click here), who organizes lovely workshops and ‘Haak-In-Avonden’ (translated as ‘Crochet-In-Evenings).

Scheepjescal week 12

Inmiddels al geruime tijd af, week 12 van de Scheepjescal 2016 Last Dance on the Beach, maar nog niet hier over geschreven. Week 12 was de laatste week van de blokken. Ik haakte de golfjes met haaknaald nr 4,5mm. Een erg leuk patroon om te haken en qua haakpatroon ook zeer passend in de deken met die leuke golfjes. De blokken haken heerlijk weg!

I finished week 12 of Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach a while ago. I didn’t blog about it yet. Week 12 was the last week of the crochet blocks. I used crochethook no 4,5 mm. The pattern is very lovely to crochet. Beautiful waves for this blanket.

En hier is ie dan eindelijk! Mijn week 11 van de Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach heeft. Ik haakte mijn blokken met haaknaald 4 mm. Ik moet ze nog blocken zoals je ziet 😉

Mijn week 10 van de Scheepjescal 2016

Ondanks dat ik het gebreide effect van het originele week 10 patroon een heel mooi effect vind hebben, vind ik hem bij mij totaal niet naar mijn zin worden en ook vond ik het patroon niet passend in mijn persoonlijke deken. Ik ben geen type die snel opgeeft dus ik probeerde dit effect ook nog met reliëfstokjes te creëren, maar dan werd het weer heel erg dik en stug. Te stug voor een lekkere  deken in mijn ogen. Dus dat werd ‘em ook niet. Zo probeerde ik van alles… En ik liet het een tijdje bezinken.

Mezelf kennende en diverse dingen in ogenschouw genomen te hebben, heb ik na lang wikken en wegen een besluit genomen… Week 10 wordt mijn eigen week, ik bedenk zelf mijn eigen aandeel in mijn deken, ik wijk af van het originele patroon. Met de haakbijbel en een kop thee begon ik met mijn ontdekkingstocht. Eerlijk gezegd was ik er al vrij snel uit: de zandsteek! Ik kende de steek nog niet maar vond hem gelijk mooi èn toepasselijk.
De zandsteek vind je in de haakbijbel, nr 24 op pagina 45. Ik haakte met haaknaald 4,5mm en startte met 33l, het lapje werd 29 toeren.
Helemaal happy met mijn eigen bijdrage in mijn deken voor week 10 van de Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach.
I really tried for the original pattern of week 10, I think the knitted look is great. But it didn’t turn out well for me. I also tried other ways to reach the same result  but I wasn’t satisfied with my work. So I decided to sit down and think for a while.
So I really wanted to listen to myself and after a lot of thinking I took a decision: I’m gonna create my own part of creativity to my own blanket. I really loved to sit down with the Dutch translation of the Crochet Stitch Dictionary and a big cup of tea. I choose the ‘zandsteek’ (I don’t know how this stitch is called in English, direct translation would be sandstitch but after googling it is a complete other stitch, so if someone knows the English term of this stitch please let me know) in our Dutch book it is number 24, but I don’t know if the English and the Dutch book match completely by stitches and their numbers. I used 4,5mm crochet hook, I began with chain 33, 29 rows. 
Completely happy with my own contribution to my own blanket for week 10 of Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance in the Beach.

Scheepjescal 2016 Week 8 en week 9

Week 8 van de Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach was een patroon waardoor ik tijdens het haken continu mega veel zin had in Brusselse wafels 😉 Echt! Ik denk dat dat zo zal blijven iedere keer als ik straks onder mijn deken lig in dit patroon zie ook whahaha

Maar goed, de wafelsteek, vaak gezien, nooit eerder gedaan, nu wel! Leuk om te haken! Ik haakte deze blokken van week 8 met haaknaald 5 mm en vrij los om ze op de juiste maat te krijgen.
Week 8 by Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance in the Beach was a design which gave me appetite for Brussels waffles 😉 And I think that feeling will go on when I’m relaxing under my beautiful blanket lol
But anyway, the wafflestitch, seen often, never made myself before. Now I did 😉 Very nice to crochet! I crocheted the blocks of week 8 with crochet hook 8 and not too tight to adjust the right size. 

 

Ook week 9 van de Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach is klaar. Ook hierbij vond ik het lastig om ze op de juiste maat te krijgen. Ik haakte deze uiteindelijk met haaknaald 4 mm. Maar een volgende keer zou ik misschien toch de 4,5mm pakken, twijfelgevalletje 😉
Ook deze steek kende ik niet, het is de judithsteek.
Het is de eerste steek in de deken die ik niet zo snel weer zal gebruiken, ik vind de gaten in het patroon zelf erg groot. En dan komt mijn perfectionistische inslag teveel naar boven geloof ik…. Bij anderen zie ik de gaatjes ook en met een aantal haaksters afzonderlijk bekeken wij ook elkaars resultaat. Conclusie, aan gaatjes in dit patroon ontkom je niet en of je het dan wel of niet mooi vind is natuurlijk heel persoonlijk. In het patroon wordt over kabels gesproken, maar ik haal heel eerlijk gezegd op geen manier kabels uit dit ontwerpt. Maar misschien jullie wel, dat kan natuurlijk 😉
Overigens vind ik het werk van alle ontwerpers altijd weer heel knap, ik doe het ze niet na, laten we dat voorop stellen. Ik respecteer dus alle ontwerpers en de patronen, het gaat puur om mijn persoonlijke voorkeur. Zonder afbreuk te doen aan iemands patroon of mening. Zoveel mensen, zoveel wensen. Onmogelijk om het iedereen naar het zin te maken. En er is geen mooier compliment voor ontwerpsters denk ik als haaksters door hun patronen zelf hun eigen creativiteit laten aanwakkeren en ontplooien. Haken is immers therapie voor velen ❤️

Also finished Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach week 9. To reach the right sizes was a challenge again this week. I made them with crochet hook 4 mm. But I think I can use 4,5 mm next time… Matter of doubt.
I didn’t know this weeks stitch, the judithstitch. 
The first stitch in the blanket I will not use it again I think. The wholes in the pattern are very big in my opinion. 
In the pattern they say ‘cables’ but I don’t see cables in this pattern. Maybe you do? 
If you like a stitch or not is very personal. It has nothing to do with respecting or disrespecting designers or their work. Because I really do respect them and their work and I think they do wonderful work for everyone. But so many people there are, so many wishes too. And I think there’s no bigger compliment possible for designers by having so many crocheters joining a cal or a design and for so many people all over the world be able to stimulate their own creativity and letting it grow. Crochet is therapy for many people ❤️

Week 6 en week 7 Scheepjescal 2016

De steek van week 6 stond al heel lang op mijn wil-ik-heel-graag-eens-doen-crea-lijstje 😉 Het is de corner to corner steek, ook wel aangeduid met C2C-steek. Het ontwerp van deze week is van Carmen van Crafty Queens.
Wat een heerlijke steek om te haken. Ik haakte de blokken van week 6 van de Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach met haaknaald 5mm.

The stitch of week 6 was on my really-love-to-do-when-I-have-time-creativity-list 😉 It’s the corner to corner stitch, also known as C2C stitch. This block is designed by Carmen by the blog  Crafty Queens. 
I really love this stitch. I crocheted the blocks of scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach week 6 with crochet hook 5 mm. 

 

Hoewel ik alle ontwerpen voor de Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach geweldig vind, heb ook ik wel zo mijn favorieten. En week 7 is toch wel 1 van mijn favorieten moet ik eerlijk bekennen. Het hartje! Het ontwerp is van Maria van het blog Fifty shades of 4 ply Maar oh wat vond ik deze week lastig om deze goed op de juist maat te krijgen. In het filmpje werd gezegd dat ie best wat kleiner mocht zijn want dat kwam met blocken helemaal goed, er zou voldoende rek in zitten… Nadat ik er al 3 klaar had stoorde het mij zo enorm! Ik kreeg ze met blocken echt niet op de juiste maat. Dus er zat maar 1 ding op! Opnieuw beginnen!!! Uiteindelijk haakte ik ze met haaknaald nr 5 mm. En dan moest ik ook vooral niet te strak haken. Continu opletten dus. Maar oh wat zijn ze leukkkkk! Ik las veel verhalen van mensen bij wie de noppen niet mooi werden. Ik had daar gelukkig geen last van. Wel kan ik adviseren om goed het YouTube filmpje te kijken want het is wel belangrijk om de nop af te maken met een losse en vooral ook om op de toer erna, de terugweg, in de juiste steek bovenop de nop te steken. Doe je dit niet dan krijg je geen mooie, rechtopstaande nop. Dus kijk echt even het filmpje helemaal goed af, dan wordt het vanzelf duidelijk.

Though I really like all the designs of Scheepjescal 2016 Last dance on the Beach, I do have my preferences. And I have to confess, week 7 certainly is one of my personal preferences. The heart! Week 7s heart was designed by Maria by the blog Fifty shades of 4 ply
I really advise you to watch the Scheepjescal 2016 week 7 YouTube film. Because it’s important to make chain one after crocheting bobblestitch and also very important to single crochet in the right stitch above the bobble stitch in your row back. If you’re good aware of both you can make really beautiful bobble hearts or every figure you ever wanna make 😉 
The only problem I had with this week was the size of the blocks. They turned out too small. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for me to make them right sizes by blocking as mentioned on youtube. They were too small and they hardly stretched out 😦 So, after 3 blocks… Yes really, I started back again. I made week 7 eventually with crochet hook 5mm.
