Ik kreeg deze prachtige set thuisgestuurd van Breiwebshop.nl en kon bijna niet wachten om te beginnen. Echter, ik was nog met een deken bezig voor mijn dochter, een cadeau voor haar 16e verjaardag, dus die móest echt af! Niks ernaast doen dus, zorgen voor geen afleiding…. Maar ik kan jullie vertellen, dat is niet gelukt! De tunische haaknaalden bleven mij roepen 😉 en zo begon ik voortijdig toch al even aan de sjaal. Aangezien ik niet het By Claire garen gebruikte zoals in het patroon staat, maar Caron Simply Soft, wist ik natuurlijk vooraf niet welke naalddikte ik precies nodig zou hebben. In het patroon wordt keurig de naalddikte aangegeven die gebruikt wordt voor het originele garen, maar dit was nu een goed moment om de sjaal gelijk met ander garen te gaan maken. En oh wat is het dan fijn om zo’n hele set in huis te hebben. Bij tunisch haken is het namelijk belangrijk dat het werk niet tè strak wordt. Het moet niet alleen makkelijk over de naald glijden maar als je een te kleine naald gebruikt, gaat je werk ook nog eens enorm trekken. En dat is echt zonde. Bovendien is het belangrijk te weten dat ook al wordt er in een patroon een naalddikte geadviseerd, dan nog hangt het altijd af van hoe strak of los je zelf haakt, net als bij gewoon haken natuurlijk. Dus kan het maar zo zijn dat voor jou juist een andere naalddikte vereist is. In de KnitPro Symfonie Tunische haaknaaldenset zitten 8 tunische haaknaalden in verschillende diktes, 4 draden in verschillende lengtes, diverse eindstops, koppelstukjes en sleuteltjes voor het aandraaien. Met deze set kun je alle kanten op.

De set bevat 8 naalden, variërend in dikte vanaf 3,5mm tot met 8mm. Alles zit in een doorzichtig mapje en heet KnitPro Symfonie.

De ton-sur-ton sjaal haakte ik uiteindelijk met de 8mm naald. Op de foto zie je hoe je een koppelstukje vastdraait. Je steekt het sleuteltje door het gaatje en kunt hem op deze manier stevig aandraaien en later ook weer losdraaien. Op deze manier ontstaan er geen vervelende randjes, alles sluit mooi aan, waardoor de draden soepel heen en weer kunnen glijden tussen naald en draad of evt tussen twee draden als je die aan elkaar koppelt.

Zoals je op de foto kunt zien, zitten er voldoende eindstukjes bij. Je kunt dus gerust met meerdere projecten tegelijk bezig zijn. Ook heel fijn 😉 En mocht je tussendoor een naald nodig hebben die je in gebruik hebt, dan haal je de naald gewoon los van de gekleurde draad en zet er tijdelijk een eindstukje op. Dan kun je de naald gewoon zolang voor een ander project gebruiken!
Wat mij opviel is dat de draad heel fijn en makkelijk over de naald gleed. Dat is in mijn ogen essentieel bij tunisch haken.
Kortom wat mij betreft een echte aanrader. Prachtig cadeau voor onder de kerstboom toch?! Dus als er nog familieleden zijn die overtuigd moeten worden dat jij deze set echt, echt, ècht nodig hebt…. gewoon dit blogje even laten lezen 😉
